In Lingo’s second leg of their return run during the Summer of 2012, the band took their new sound down to south Florida, revisiting old markets and joining new ones, and back to some Georgia markets the band didn’t visit during their first leg.  Along the way, some friends stopped by and jammed with them too.  All and all, it was a great return and these are some highlights of those summer shows.

“Nine months ago I didn’t think I’d be playing music again with Lingo,” said Justin, while onstage at Atlanta’s Peachtree Tavern on March 16th, 2012, Lingo’s first gig back since they went on hiatus in July 2011.  That night they introduced new guitarist Nick Johnson and drummer Greg Perry to the fold, and the response from friends and fans was instantly positive!  This podcast is a collection of highlights from their return run in the Spring 0f 2012, where ecstatic fans witnessed a stronger, more mature-sounding band.

To commemorate the end of the year, the band decided their last 2011 podcast would not be a collection of tracks from previous shows. Instead, they wanted to share this show in its entirety. Performed during Lingo’s last Florida tour, this is arguably one of the best shows from 2011 that was lucky enough to be recorded. Outside a few sonic enhancements, the show is left as is – no cuts, no outtakes, no edits. Enjoy as the band lights up Skipper’s from start to finish!

On May 14th, 2011, Lingo invited friends and family to the band’s Shabby Shack and hosted an epic event of music, pork, beer, fireworks, and more. Though it was a private invite, nearly 300 people showed up, surpassing all expectations! Minus some technical difficulties with the mics and a smoke machine that wouldn’t shut up, this is a compilation of some of the more memorable moments from that awesome night!

This podcast, the first featuring 2011 performances, is a great answer to why we love Statesboro, GA. This collection spans three (3) different shows at Buffalo’s, recorded in January, February and March 2011. While these songs made the cut, there were lots to choose from! This podcast showcases not only the spirited energy of the band, but of the crowds as well, who sometimes play as big a role as the band. On a side note, Buffalo’s was where “Head of State” debuted as the new moniker for Daniel Parker’s freestyle he does with the band.

This is our first podcast available on the web, a special package of highlights from 2010, a truly special year in the history of Lingo. There are some small audio issues during the beginning of Imagine that are source-related, but the track was so good and real we had to put it on. Special thanks to Steve Kwarten and Jeff Brock whose tapes helped make the first five tracks possible.
