  • Happy New Year!!

Hey everyone!! It’s been a while since we last spoke (at least here on the website). But we wanted to send a very Happy New Year to all of our fans and friends who have been with us and stuck with us through this quiet second half of the year! While we have missed playing for you guys, it has been a very much-needed break for all of us, and we are looking forward to getting back in the saddle again in 2012.

As a token of our gratitude, and to also give you one more show before we bring 2011 to a close, we have added a new podcast for you to download and listen. It’s a special one too, in that instead of a collection of tracks, it’s an entire show from start to finish that can only be found here on our website. Click on the link here and rock into the new year!

To commemorate the end of the year, the band decided their last 2011 podcast would not be a collection of tracks from previous shows. Instead, they wanted to share this show in its entirety. Performed during Lingo’s last Florida tour, this is arguably one of the best shows from 2011 that was lucky enough to be recorded. Outside a few sonic enhancements, the show is left as is – no cuts, no outtakes, no edits. Enjoy as the band lights up Skipper’s from start to finish!

On May 14th, 2011, Lingo invited friends and family to the band’s Shabby Shack and hosted an epic event of music, pork, beer, fireworks, and more. Though it was a private invite, nearly 300 people showed up, surpassing all expectations! Minus some technical difficulties with the mics and a smoke machine that wouldn’t shut up, this is a compilation of some of the more memorable moments from that awesome night!

    Hitting The Woodshed

For the continued success of the band, we have decided it is in our best interest to take some time off from the road. During this time we plan to focus our energy on creating new music and pushing our creative boundaries in the practice room.

We appreciate all the support we have received from our fans, friends, and family and hope you continue to pay attention as we lay the groundwork for our future success.

As our last show before our break, we will be performing at Matilda’s in Alpharetta, GA this Saturday, July 9th. We hope you can be there, as this night will be very special for all of us.

    AthFest Reminder

Don’t forget, while AthFest is in full swing this weekend, Lingo will be performing Sunday afternoon at 2:45pm on the outdoor stage on Hull Street in downtown Athens. It’s a 30-minute slot, but we plan to jam-pack that half-hour with some real good tunes! We can’t wait to be back in Athens, GA!

    Florida Success

We want to thank everybody that came to see us in Tampa and Boca Raton this past tour. It was great seeing so many new faces and seeing how far this band has come along in the Sunshine State. Thanks to COPE for hosting us in Tampa (you guys are great!), and also a big thanks to the Short Straw Pickers for opening for us in Boca. If you haven’t seen these guys yet, you need to. They are good!

Also, we would like to thank the Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West for having us for a full week and being great hosts for us the entire time we were there. In addition, to all the new fans who came to see us once, twice, and as many as four different times, as well as all who saw us on the webcasts each night, thank you so very much for your positive energies and support! You all made this Florida run a very successful one!

Next on the agenda is the renowned AthFest in Athens, GA. We’re scheduled to play the second outside stage at 2:45pm on Sunday, June 26th. We hope to see you there!

    Summer Kickoff Weekend

Lingo has a pretty busy schedule lined up for the next five weeks, and it all starts this weekend. The anchor date is the hometown party on Saturday, June 4th, as The Five Spot in Atlanta, GA presents An Evening with Lingo! This marks the first time at The Five Spot that Lingo will be the sole performers of the night as they perform two long sets of music.

In addition, on Friday, June 3rd, Lingo will be closing out a special outdoor concert in downtown Tuscaloosa, AL with the Suex Effect and Lightnin’ Malcolm, to benefit the victims of the tornadoes that struck the city last month. While lots of bands will be performing in various bars and clubs for the same cause that day, the outdoor festivities start at around 10pm with Lingo taking the stage around 1am. Lingo will also perform at The Lake Claire Community Land Trust in Atlanta, GA on Sunday, June 5th, to benefit the Pepperland Music Camp where Alex Tramble works as a music instructor. Diane Durrett and Davin McCoy are among the other artists scheduled to appear at the benefit which starts at 2pm.
